To improve user experience, further updates are coming to the Enter pages. Key changes include removing hover behavior and introducing a consistent three-dot menu for header cells and enabling right-click functionality for header and body cell menus.
New Header Cell Interaction
In February, we updated body cells in the Enter pages to feature a three-dot menu that allows users to access cell options. Learn more about this change.
The upcoming update extends that functionality to header cells— the cells on the left side of the data grid which organize related data into rows (i.e. Experiment Metadata, Expanded Ingredients, Ingredients, Category, Step Total and Calculations).
Previously, interacting with header cells relied on hover behaviors, which created visual noise and made navigation inconsistent—especially on mobile and touchscreen devices. This update provides a more accessible experience, aligning with the Excel and other spreadsheet application UI.
With this improvement, when a header cell is active, a blue three-dot icon will appear and clicking the icon will open a dropdown with relevant actions.

This change has already been implemented for Enter Recipe ingredient header cells, with plans to extend it to the other Enter Recipe page header cells and the Enter Measurements page in coming updates.
Right-Click Menu Updates
Currently, right-clicking on a header or body cell on the Enter page displays separate menu options (i.e. copying, locking, formatting). With this update, right-clicking any cell will function the same as selecting the three-dot menu for that cell.

This change has already been rolled out for Enter Recipe header cells and will extend to Enter Recipe body cells and the Enter Measurements page in the near future.
Overall, these improvements aim to reduce clutter, increase accessibility, and create a more consistent experience for users across desktop and mobile views.
