In certain situations, bar charts present a great way to visualize your data, such as comparing experiments or plotting categorical data.
You can access the bar chart either from the chart type option on the explore data page or from the More Visualizations option from the Visualize dropdown menu in the navigation bar.
From the Bar Chart page, you can fill in the dropdown menus for the x axis, y axis, and color. Two common types of bar charts are given as examples below.
Experiment Property Comparison Bar Chart
This example reflects a common way that you may want to quickly compare different properties across an experiment set. Notably, this plot has the Multi Y Axis option enabled (the rightmost button on the button bar) which allows you to plot multiple output properties. Since these two outputs have different units and scales, the axis mode option is set to Multiple Axes.
Categorical Data Comparison
This example shows how you can plot categorical data as your x-axis option to visualize whether the category variable appears to affect the selected property. The bar height represents the average of the values at each category option with the error bars representing the standard deviation of those values.
