Child projects in Uncountable enable users to create sub-projects within a parent project. On the Project Listing page, child projects appear nested beneath the associated parent project.
To create a child project, users must have the appropriate permissions. This article explains how to configure these permissions and troubleshoot permissions issues.

Troubleshooting Issues Creating Child Projects
In order to create child projects users must have either “Read” or “Write” permissions enabled on the parent project. If you are unable to create a child project, you likely have inadequate permissions. To troubleshoot this issue, take the following steps.

From the Project Listing page, click the parent project’s cog icon and select “Edit Project”.

Locate the Permissions Required for Creating Children field at the bottom of the modal. In the screenshot below, “Write” permissions are required to create new child projects from the select project.

Step 2: Check Your User Group Permissions
Navigate to the User Groups tab on the User Administration page. Access the “…” menu for your user group and select “Edit Permissions”. Learn more about user group permissions.

For the material family (A), check to that your Experiment permissions (B) match those set in the parent project modal.
