Enabling Calculations on a Project

Projects and workflows in Uncountable are linked to calculations specific to their processes and requirements. But what determines whether a calculation is enabled when creating a new project or viewing a recipe?

This guide explains how to configure calculation visibility, ensuring the right calculations are readily available on your recipe.

There are four key scenarios in which a calculation becomes available within a project:

  • The calculation is defaulted on an individual project
  • The calculation is defaulted on for all projects
  • The calculation is defaulted on for the workflow
  • The calculation has the “Add to New Projects” Availability Setting enabled

Enabling Calculations on a Project

To add a calculation to all recipes within an individual project, take the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Select Project page.
  2. Click the cog icon associated with the project and select “Edit Project…”.
  3. Under “Calculations Shown”, add or remove calculations. Calculations selected here will be added to all recipes within the project by default.
  4. Submit changes.

Enabling Calculations on a Workflow

To add a calculation for all experiments using a specific workflow, take the following steps:

  1. Access the Workflows page (Inputs/Outputs → Workflows).
  2. Use the Experiment Workflow dropdown menu to choose the workflow you want to edit.
  3. Within the List tab, click “Edit Workflow” to open the sidepanel.
  4. In the Calculations Shown dropdown menu, select the calculation(s) to enable.

Enabling a Calculation on All Projects

There are two ways to enable a calculation for all projects within a material family. From the Projects Listing, follow these steps:

  1. From Select Projects, click the blue “All Projects” button.
  2. Open any recipe.
  3. From the Enter Recipes page, click the “Add Calculations” button.
  4. From the Add Ingredients modal, click the “Enable in All Projects” button associated with the calculation(s).

Alternatively, a calculation can be enabled on all projects within its own Availability Settings. To do so, take the follow steps:

  1. Access the View Calculations modal for a calculation.
  2. Within the Availability Settings section:
    • Toggle on “Add to New Projects” to automatically include the calculation in all newly created projects.
    • Toggle on “Insert To All Existing Projects” to make the calculation available in all previously created projects.
